As cooler temperatures, higher relative humidity, and precipitation moves across Massachusetts, the extreme risk of outdoor fires spreading and growing quickly have diminished significantly.
Because of these factors, the Newbury Fire Department will immediately lift the temporary outdoor fire restrictions.
A reminder that residents should still use caution and common sense with any fire. The open burning season runs from January 15 – May 1, and residents must obtain a permit from the fire department before engaging in this activity. Also, as always, there is no open burning on Plum Island.
