Chief Douglas Janvrin would like to thank the Newbury Animal Hospital for their donation of O2 Fur Life oxygen masks to the Newbury Fire Department.
The six donated oxygen mask kits (each with three different size masks inside) will be placed on the ambulances, ladder trucks and engines at Newbury’s two stations.
Firefighters will now be able to use the oxygen masks to provide vital care to pets in the event that they are rescued from a fire.
“On behalf of the entire department, we want to thank the Newbury Animal Hospital for this generous donation,” Chief Janvrin said. “Pets are an important part of residents’ families and if they’re in respiratory distress, these masks will ensure that we get them the help they need as quickly as possible.”
